Proposal for West End Bazaar – West End – Adelaide CBD
Project Highlight: The “West End Bazaar” project is an initiative aimed at celebrating diversity and revitalizing Adelaide’s West End in a north-southern direction. The project’s main focus is to attract biodiversity and rejuvenate the area. It involves increasing development density and establishing cultural hubs, shopping centres, and informal gathering spaces for urban interactions and/or festivals to cater to diverse groups. Some lanes between Currie Street and Grote Street, is the central element of this plan, set to be transformed into a lively commercial and social hub. Through these efforts, the project aims to promote stimulations for placemaking and embrace the vibrant diversity present within the city. The streetscape design allows for an outdoor shopping street in proximity to CBD Adelaide and Chinatown where semi-permanent popup shops/structures are to be a part of the day-to-day urban landscape, generating socio-economic benefits for both the city and the local residents.
